SRM T3 EV

2026-09-22 14:00:00

The SRM T3 EV (marketed as the SRM T3 EV in several export destinations) is an all-electric light commercial vehicle (LCV) developed by Shineray for urban short-haul logistics. Featuring a heavy-duty chassis architecture and a proven electrified powertrain, the model has established itself as an essential workhorse in the small-scale freight and last-mile delivery sectors. As of 2026, the SRM T3 EV maintains a strong presence across domestic and international fleet and enterprise markets, courtesy of its versatile cargo configurations (including panel van and dropside body styles) and high payload efficiency.

Vehicle Overview

The SRM T3 EV is offered in multiple body configurations, with the standard panel van measuring approximately 4,555 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width, and 1,990 mm in height, riding on a wheelbase between 3,050 mm and 3,245 mm. Billed as an "efficient electric business enabler" and a "heavy-duty electric logistics hauler", its key selling propositions include a rated payload capacity exceeding 1 tonne, class-leading cargo volume (up to 6.7 m³ on selected variants), and an efficient EV powertrain compatible with 800V/400V charging architectures engineered specifically for high-intensity commercial duties. The vehicle provides a zero-emission, low-running-cost solution for urban courier, moving, and fresh produce delivery operations.

Powertrain and Variants

Electric Powertrain: The line-up is powered by a high-efficiency permanent magnet synchronous motor delivering a peak output of 60 kW (30 kW rated) and 220 Nm of peak torque. A rear-motor, rear-wheel-drive (RWD) layout ensures robust off-the-line performance and gradient-climbing capability even under full payload.

Battery and Charging:

Battery Specifications: Equipped with battery pack options ranging from 41.86 kWh to 53.58 kWh (CATL Gen-3 Lithium Iron Phosphate / LFP) to cater to diverse operational range requirements.

Charging Capabilities: Supports both DC fast charging and AC standard charging. Via DC fast charging, a 20% to 80% State of Charge (SoC) top-up takes approximately 35 to 45 minutes, minimising vehicle downtime and enhancing fleet turnaround times.

Chassis and Load Capacity: Built on a reinforced ladder-frame chassis with a heavy-duty rear suspension utilising a multi-leaf spring setup (up to 6 leaves), delivering exceptional structural durability under its rated payload of around 1.2 to 1.5 tonnes.

Market Positioning and Performance

In the 2026 commercial vehicle landscape, the SRM T3 EV is recognised for its high value-for-money quotient and no-nonsense utilitarian character. Unlike passenger-derived vans, the T3 EV is engineered purely for commercial logistics duties:

Domestic Market: Serving as an indispensable business tool for logistics fleets and SME owner-operators, the van is widely deployed on urban distribution and last-mile courier routes, where low energy consumption and minimal maintenance overheads remain decisive buying factors.

Overseas Markets: In tandem with the global expansion of Chinese commercial vehicles, the SRM T3 EV is exported to markets such as Singapore, South America, and Africa. Marketed under the SRM T3 EV nameplate and engineered to local specifications—including right-hand drive (RHD) configurations—it has been widely adopted by commercial fleets as an operational asset.

Key Technical Specifications

Cargo Bed Engineering: The cargo compartment features a flat floor design for maximum space utilisation. Long-wheelbase variants boast an internal bed length of up to 3,100 mm, easily accommodating standard logistics crates and Euro pallets.

Cabin and Driver Assistance: Despite its utilitarian remit, the 2026 model comes standard with Electric Power Steering (EPS with auto-centering function), a reverse camera, an MP5 central touchscreen infotainment head unit, and Bluetooth connectivity, notably reducing driver fatigue during long shifts.

Safety Equipment: Standard safety features include ABS with EBD, high-strength steel body reinforcement, and comprehensive electrical overload protection to ensure system safety during continuous commercial use.

Current Market Outlook

Heading into 2026, the SRM T3 EV has undergone several product updates, focusing on improved cold-weather battery range consistency and enhanced multi-layer body paintwork for superior weather protection. As urban access restrictions on diesel commercial vehicles tighten globally, Shineray continues to strengthen its presence in the light commercial EV segment. Supported by a comprehensive overseas distributor and after-sales network providing reliable spare parts availability, the model continues to reinforce its reputation as a dependable business workhorse.
